Strength is not the first reaction
When someone disrespects you or makes you angry, the powerful, strong person is the one who does not answer with anger in the moment.
Shouting, harsh words and bad behaviour are the easiest fight there is. Stay composed instead. Learn from what happened, and make sure things are put back in their right place.
Then look at what they actually did. If it was tiny, petty, childish or immature, it only shows how little their mind and their life have developed so far. They will likely come back to their senses. If they do not, that is not your concern.
What is your concern comes down to two questions: what here really affects me, and how do I make sure it does not happen again?
And if, after all of that, you still want revenge — personal or of any kind — then take it. But not as an immediate outburst. Take it as the final hit, the one that comes when it is least expected, and only one you will not regret once your anger has settled. Revenge should leave you satisfied that you did the right thing, and never eat you up later.
