Siddarth Hegde: The Sales Associate Who Became the Heart of Operations
Siddarth Hegde: The Sales Associate Who Became the Heart of Operations
Sometimes you hire someone for one role, and they end up becoming something else entirely—something better, something essential, something you never knew you needed.
Siddarth Hegde is our Operations Manager and a core member of our team at SPURGE Rentals.
But that's not how he started.
When Siddarth joined us, he came in as a sales associate—someone to reach out to clients, pitch deals, and bring in business. It was a straightforward role with clear expectations.
Little did I know he would turn out to be one of the most essential people in the entire company.
The Qualities That Set Him Apart
What made Siddarth different from day one wasn't just his ability to sell. It was his availability. His openness to work. His dedication. His willingness to roll up his sleeves and do whatever needed to be done.
He wasn't the type to say, "That's not my job." He was the type to say, "What needs to happen? Let me help."
And in a growing company, that attitude is worth its weight in gold.
From Sales to Operations
Siddarth did great work in sales, reaching out to prospects digitally, building relationships, and closing deals. But as he spent more time with us, he started understanding the operations side of the business—the internal machinery that keeps everything running smoothly.
And I noticed something: he was good at it. Really good.
Operations requires a specific skill set. You need to coordinate across teams, make sure tasks are completed on time, manage logistics, handle complications, and keep everyone aligned. It's not glamorous work, but it's the backbone of any company.
Siddarth took to it naturally. So naturally, in fact, that he's now fully managing the internal operations of SPURGE.
The Personality Behind the Role
Siddarth is funny. He brings lightness to the workplace, the kind of humor that diffuses tension and makes hard days a little easier.
He's loyal—to ethics, to his work, to the people around him. You can count on him to do things the right way, even when the easy way is tempting.
And he's emotional. A bit too emotional sometimes, to the point where he struggles to stick to just the facts of a topic because he's busy worrying about everyone's feelings around him.
Some might see that as a weakness. I see it as his greatest strength.
Why Emotions Matter in Operations
Operations isn't just about systems and processes. It's about people. It's about coordination, communication, and making sure everyone feels heard and supported so they can do their best work.
Siddarth's emotional awareness—his ability to sense how people are feeling, his concern for their well-being—makes him exceptional at operations. He doesn't just push tasks through. He brings people along with him. He makes them feel valued. He creates an environment where collaboration happens naturally because people want to work together.
That's not something you can teach. That's who he is.
The Promise He Made
Siddarth once told me something that stuck with me. After working here for quite some time, he said:
"I will continue working here until I get fired or removed. And if that happens, I won't go work anywhere else. I'll just go home and work in my farms and settle there."
It was such a Siddarth thing to say—heartfelt, a little dramatic, but completely sincere.
He wasn't making a career calculation. He wasn't positioning himself for leverage. He was simply expressing loyalty in the most genuine way he knows how.
And I believe him. Siddarth isn't going anywhere. He's always going to be working at SPURGE. He's a core member of our team, now and for the foreseeable future.
Destiny in Disguise
Looking back, it's surprising how random events lead to the right people ending up in the right places.
Siddarth came in for sales. He evolved into operations. And now he's indispensable.
It feels less like a series of decisions and more like destiny—like he was bound to be here all along, and we just had to let the path unfold.
Maybe that's what building a team is really about. Not just hiring for roles, but recognizing when someone is meant to be part of your journey, even if they don't fit neatly into the box you originally created for them.
Looking Ahead
Siddarth Hegde is here to stay. He's not just managing operations—he's holding the company together in ways big and small, visible and invisible.
He's funny. He's loyal. He's emotional in the best way. And he's exactly the kind of person you want at the core of your team.
Thank you, Siddarth, for being you. For caring about the work. For caring about the people. For showing up every day with dedication and heart.
And don't worry—you're not getting fired. You're stuck with us. And we're stuck with you.
Here's to many more years together.
