Nikitha Thampy: The No-Nonsense HR Who Raises the Bar

When you work with someone exceptional, replacing them feels impossible. But sometimes, if you're lucky, you find someone who doesn't just fill the gap - they raise the bar entirely.

Nikitha Thampy is our HR and Admin manager at SPURGE Rentals and Stocky Pro. But more than that, she's the kind of person I will always respect and admire.

She's honest. She's direct. She's strong. And she's a workaholic - exactly the kind of person I love having around me at work.

Let me tell you how we got connected.

The Search for the Irreplaceable

I'm part of a few founder groups and communities where profiles looking for jobs get posted almost daily. When Sahana had to leave the company, I found myself on the hunt for someone to take her place.

But here's the thing about replacing someone great - it's nearly impossible. When you get used to working with someone who performs at a high level, someone who understands the business, someone who just gets it, your expectations naturally rise. You don't want to settle for substandard. You can't.

So I was looking, but I was selective. Very selective.

The Post That Stood Out

Then I saw a post about Nikitha in one of the founder groups.

What immediately caught my attention wasn't just that she was looking for work - it was how she presented herself. The message was written exceptionally well. The resume was super clear, organized, and professional. She didn't have direct experience in HR, but she had solid admin experience from working in the UK.

And she was looking to transition into HR.

When I reached out to her with an offer, the conversation confirmed what I'd already sensed from her post: her communication was crisp, clear, to the point, and detailed. No fluff. No vagueness. Just straight talk.

That clicked for me immediately. I asked her to visit the office for an interview.

The Meeting in Bangalore

A few weeks later, we met in Bangalore. We talked for quite some time - about work, about expectations, about the role, about life. And by the end of that conversation, I knew.

She was in.

A No-Nonsense Approach to Everything

What has surprised me most about Nikitha is just how much of a no-nonsense person she is. In the best possible way.

She works exceptionally well. She doesn't waste time. She doesn't cut corners. She doesn't play games. And she will never, ever break trust or ethics in her work. That's not who she is.

In a world where workplace drama, politics, and unreliability are frustratingly common, Nikitha is a breath of fresh air. She shows up, does the work, does it well, and maintains the highest standards of integrity.

And beyond being a great colleague, she's also a super good friend. The kind of person you can rely on, talk to, and trust completely.

Owning HR and Admin

Since joining, Nikitha has taken over HR and Admin responsibilities with remarkable competence. She handles all compliances - something that can be a nightmare if not managed properly. She manages people with fairness and clarity. She keeps the office running smoothly.

But what I appreciate most is that she's not just executing tasks. She's learning constantly. Being around the business, the software development, the team dynamics - she's absorbing everything. She sees the full picture, understands how different parts connect, and uses that knowledge to do her job even better.

That kind of awareness and growth mindset? It's rare.

Why She Matters

Here's the truth: HR and Admin roles are often undervalued. People think it's just paperwork, policies, and managing leave requests. But in reality, HR is the backbone of company culture. It's the difference between a team that feels supported and one that feels neglected. It's the bridge between leadership and employees.

Nikitha understands that. She doesn't treat HR as a checkbox role. She treats it as a responsibility to make sure people are taken care of, that the company runs ethically, and that standards are maintained.

And she does it all with honesty and directness that I deeply respect.

The Workaholic in the Best Way

I mentioned earlier that Nikitha is a workaholic, and I mean that as the highest compliment. She's not someone who works long hours because she's inefficient or because she's trying to impress anyone. She works hard because she cares about doing things right.

That's the kind of work ethic I value. Not performative hustle, but genuine commitment to excellence.

And when you surround yourself with people like that - people who care, who work hard, who maintain integrity - everything else becomes easier.

Looking Ahead

Nikitha has already become an integral part of SPURGE and Stocky Pro. She's proven that you don't need years of experience in a specific role to excel at it - you need the right mindset, the willingness to learn, and the integrity to do things properly.

She has all of that and more.

I'm excited to see how she continues to grow in this role, how she continues to shape our company culture, and how she continues to set the standard for what great HR and Admin looks like.

The Lesson

When you're hiring, especially for critical roles, don't just look for experience. Look for character. Look for clarity in communication. Look for people who are honest, direct, and strong.

Nikitha had admin experience but not HR experience. But she had something more important - she had integrity, work ethic, and the ability to learn quickly.

That's what makes someone irreplaceable.

Thank you, Nikitha, for being exactly who you are. For raising the bar. For managing the chaos with clarity. For being someone I can trust completely.

Here's to many more years of working together.
